Manu Parekh(Born 1939)
Known to be highly influenced by the artistic essence of RamKinker Baij and Rabindranath Tagore, Manu Parekh is identified for his numerous paintings that centred on the city of Varanasi. Parekh was drawn towards polemics right from the very beginning and his works depict similar essence where he painted a plethora of emotions thorough the characters and subjects of is work. His use of colours and several different forms exhibited supreme energy which soon became a part of the artist’s outlook and personality. Parekh is a recipient of the 1982 Lalit Kala Akademi Award and the fourth highest civilian award of India, Padma Shri, in 1991.
